Stuart Rickman, our Specialist OT technician, came to Sidcup via Clarke & Smith, a company manufacturing equipment fo disabled people, and Guy's & St Thomas's hospitals. He has been at Queen Mary's for the last 19 years.
Stuart is a designer and innovator who makes pieces of equipment that cannot be found in the commercial market. He has a particular interest in hand splinting , wheelchair adaptations and remedial games. He appeared as "Q" in the Royal College of Occupational Therapy's promotional video.
In his spare time Stuart plays the keyboards, and restores and drives classic sports cars. He is a regular on the London to Brighton run but says he is not sure whether it is he or the car which is the "old crock!"
